The Yoke System, Explained

From the Composite Project Kft test bench, mid-April 2026.

You don’t usually think of a control yoke as a “feature.” It’s just supposed to work. But after watching pilots wrestle with chain-driven yokes in flight schools for two decades — slop in the linkage, asymmetric force on left vs. right yoke, chains that need lubrication every annual — Andre took it as a personal challenge.

Linear motion. No tilting. No chain.

The Volozen yoke moves only in one axis (fore-aft for elevator, plus rotation for ailerons). It does not tilt with elevator deflection. The drive is a Kevlar belt, not a chain. Kevlar has double the tensile strength of comparable roller chain, generates zero noise, and asks for zero maintenance over the airframe’s life.

Carbon bridge for zero backlash

A carbon-fiber bridge between left and right yokes makes both feel identical. There’s no slop, no elongation, no “the right yoke feels different than the left” complaint that flight instructors hear all the time. For students learning to fly, this matters. The control feel should be a constant — not something they have to compensate for.

The torque tube goes directly to the aileron pushrod at the wing. The elevator pushrod goes to the tail. The rudder operates by pushrods too. Linear bearings, chrome-plated tubes, maintenance-free. The whole assembly is small and light enough to bolt straight into the central fuselage box without needing a separate sub-assembly stage.

Adjustable feel during flight test

The internal gear ratio is tunable. During flight test we’ll dial in aileron-turn rate and elevator-travel feel by feel — what’s most comfortable for owner-pilots in the touring variant, what’s most predictable for student pilots in the trainer. Same hardware, different gear ratios. Different mission, different airplane.

It’s a control yoke. It just shouldn’t be the part of the cockpit you notice.
